( https://eastcoasttrail.com/ways-to-give/ )\nPreregistration for this outing is required. Register by following the link on the left.\n\n\n\n\nPath: Motion Bay Path ( https://eastcoasttrail.com/choose-a-path/listing/12-motion-path/ )\nDate: Saturday, May 24\nMeet Time: 9:00 am\nMeet Location: Motion Bay Path Trailhead in Petty Harbour ( https://maps.app.goo.gl/LrfLL289RFDvC5MX9 )\nPublic parking is available at the town hall, and on the south side in the boat haul-out area east of the Fisherman’s Centre. There is limited parking above the Petty Harbour Mini Aquarium. Curbside parking is for residents only. Walk up Southside Road, and turn north onto Cavells Lane. After 15 m, this steep lane turns sharply east and continues 100 m uphill to the trailhead.\nDuration: 4-6 hours\nDistance: 10.8km\nWe will hike to Motion Head (5.4km) and return to Petty Harbour for a total of 10.8km\nRating: Moderate to Difficult\n\nLeader: Lloyd Cadwell – lloydcadwell@hotmail.com\nCo-Leader: Barbara Mason\n\n\n\n\n\nNotes\n\nPlease be on time or a bit early\nConsider carpooling to the Meeting Location if you plan on attending with friends or family\nBefore the hike, please privately advise the hike leader if you have any concerns, health issues, or severe allergies (this is not mandatory).\nCarry an adequate backpack to carry water, fruit juice or other fluids (a suggestion of 300 ml/hour per person). DO NOT bring frozen water, it will NOT thaw out during the hike. Food items for a snack/lunch. We will be stopping for a small lunch break.\nA walking stick/pole/staff helps with balance and reduces the risk of falls and sprains.\nFor safety reasons, it’s always a good idea to carry a whistle.\nWear layered clothing suitable for the weather. This would include a hat/cap, gloves, warm fleece, jacket/coat/wind breaker as temperatures would be a bit cooler/colder along the coastline at this time of year. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and lip balm with an SPF factor are highly recommended.\nThis is a group hike and participants are advised to stay with the designated hike leader and co-leader, and group for safety reasons.\n\n\n\n\nPlease note this event is weather-dependent. If the hike leader determines the hike must be cancelled, you will receive an email notifying you of the cancellation. Double check your email is correct when registering!\n\n\n\n
