Volunteer Maintenance Outing – Sugarloaf Path – Cancelled

Thank you so much for your interest in this Saturday’s Volunteer Maintenance Outing. Unfortunately, we’ve had to cancel this one.

It’s been a tough season with more cancellations than usual due to weather, but we truly appreciate your patience, flexibility, and continued enthusiasm. Every time you sign up, it reminds us how strong and dedicated this volunteer community is. We’re hopeful the Fall outings will bring us better luck, and we can get back out on the trail together soon.

Here are the next opportunities to join us:

Saturday, September 6th – Currently reserved for a corporate outing, but registration opens to the public Friday, August 22

Saturday, September 20th – La Manche Village Path

Saturday, October 4th – White Horse Path

Saturday, October 18th – Location TBD (we’ll aim to revisit Deadman’s Bay, Mickeleens, or Sugarloaf)

Come help us prune trees and vegetation on Sugarloaf Path. The outing may include activities such as brushing, lopping, trimming, slash carry, fire pit remediation and water bar clearing.  Hand tools, such as lopers and pruning shears, will be used. Hikers must be prepared to hike at least 3 km (approximately 1 hour, both in and out) while carrying tools.

Pre-registration for this outing is required but experience is not! We will provide training in East Coast Trail pruning standards at the beginning of the outing.
