2009 Maintenance Program Underway
Sunday, May 3, 2009
On Sunday May 3, 2009 16 volunteers and one staff member joined forces to kick off the 2009 East Coast Trail Volunteer Maintenance Season. A big thanks to all for coming out!
In Bay Bulls the eager team was greeted by an eery fog. The atmosphere lightened as we enjoyed the sight of an iceberg in Bay Bulls Harbour near the Mickeleens Path trail head.
The light rain turned to drizzle by lunch time so we headed home after lunch to dry off. Some of us were not wearing fully rain resistant clothes.
However, hikers and walkers of Mickeleens Path will be happy to know that in spite of the weather we managed to clear 7 dead fall from the trail and do a good amount of trail widening in the first 2 km.
Please check out the Scheduled Hikes page for upcoming Maintenance Outings.
