About This Path:

This path features challenging hills, along with coastal views of offshore islands, the Biscan (Offer) Islands, and Pigeon Island, often frequented by whales in the summer season. Where Freshwater River meets the ocean, 4.7 km from the Biscan Cove trailhead, sea ledges and a waterfall make for a great spot to pause and picnic. An operational helipad is also visible from the trail. Note, the 5.5 km gravel road linking Pouch Cove and Cape St. Francis is not regularly maintained. There are no facilities at Cape St. Francis; hikers must return to Pouch Cove.
