About This Path:

This path is a good pick for family and visitor hikes, including a moderate climb with views of Ferryland, Crow Island, and Ferryland Lighthouse, with a rambling hike through the woods and a stretch along the rocky Spout River. There are waterfall and fjord views at Howlett Point. Like Caplin Bay Path, it can be combined with a visit to the Colony of Avalon archeological site and interpretation center. Facilities and services are available in Ferryland. Limited facilities and services available in Aquaforte.

The path has been closed at the trailhead in Ferryland due to a conflict with the landowner in that area. However, it is still possible to hike the path from the Aquaforte trailhead as far as Herring Cove and return to Aquaforte rather than proceed to Ferryland.
