Flamber Head Awards 28 April : Accepting Nominations for 2011

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Recognizing our Community Stars.

Join us on the evening of Thursday 28 April 2011 as the East Coast Trail Association honours volunteers who exemplify the association’s mission-centered commitment to the Trail. A pot luck supper at the Justina Centre gets underway at 6:30 p.m. and awards will be made at 7:30 p.m.

Flamber Head Awards are presented annually to outstanding volunteers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to volunteerism and the association over a minimum of three years. They exemplify leadership, creativity, cooperation and hard work.

Our association is led by volunteers, said Randy Murphy, President. Many have made an outstanding contribution to the Association, and therefore to the community, through volunteer service. We wish to recognize their integrity and commitment to excellence.

You can help.
Nominations for this year’s awards will be accepted until Sunday April 17 2011. I am pleased to note that ECTA members Gene Herzberg, Barry MacKay and Elke Dettmer have agreed to serve as a selection committee, said Randy. A nomination statement for each candidate should explain why the candidate qualifies for this award.

The Justina Centre is at 108 Outer Cove Road in Logy Bay Middle Cove Outer Cove. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. on the 28th of April.

Volunteer Week in Newfoundland and Labrador is celebrated a bit earlier in the month (April 10 to 16) but we are adopting its theme, so please join us as we celebrate the Stars in our community who make the East Coast Trail the free, accessible and awesome treasure we all know and love.

More details and nominations forms can be found on the Flamber Head Awards Night event page.
