Every year on International Trails Day, the East Coast Trail Association holds a fun-filled pledge-a-thon community hike event. The day features a variety of hikes to choose from, along with a community program of prizes, entertainment and a meal. Proceeds of community hike day support trail maintenance, protection and enhancement.

The 2017 East Coast Trail Community Hike will take place on June 3.

This year’s event features four great hike options converging in the historic, geologically spectacular community of Flatrock. Conquer the Stiles Cove Path or Father Troy’s Trail. If you’re up for a full-day challenge, you can tackle both. Families or those seeking a shorter outing can hike the trail from Redhead Cove (Stiles Cove Path south) to Flatrock.

Hike-day check-in and hiker parking will take place at the Pouch Cove Lion’s Club (200 Satellite Road). Buses will transport hikers to trailheads. Hike day will culminate with lunch and a community program in Flatrock, following which hikers will be bussed back to the parking area in Pouch Cove.

Consider registering and fundraising as an individual, or rally friends, family or colleagues as a team. Up to ten people can fundraise to hike on a team. All participating adults are asked to fundraise or donate a minimum of $50. Great prizes for top fundraising teams and individuals!
