Successful outing for Torbay Trails group

Saturday, May 30, 2015

There was a good turnout today by the Torbay Environment & Trails Committee at a maintenance outing on Father Troy’s Path of the East Coast Trail. Father Troy’s Path runs from Spray Lane in Torbay to the Flatrock beamer.

At the initiative of TETC, a long established local trail support group, ten members came out, and with some guidance by ECTA experienced maintenance
volunteers, Robbie Hicks in the lead, pruners and handsaws were taken to the Whale Cove loop and the tight path widened to a more comfortable treadway for hikers. The results were
immediately appreciated by tourists from New York and local trail users.

Many thanks to the TETC members and our ECTA members who supported today:

Robbie Hicks, Sylvia Warkentin, Michael Gardiner, Elizabeth Mouland, Madeleine Florent, Helen Spencer, Don Spencer, Heather Saunders, Kylie Mugford, Anand Yethiraj
