Parking for Cobblers Path

UPDATE TO ORIGINAL POST: The Town will allow parking on one side of Doran’s Lane as of May 1, but strongly encourages hikers to make use of the new parking lot on Cobblers Cresent whenever possible. While we understand your frustration, ECTA wishes to remind hikers to be mindful & respectful to the residents of Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove. Accumulation of vehicles congesting the road can cause safety issues if emergency vehicles need to get to the homes onDoran’s Lane, or any other community along the trail. The Town has built a beautiful parking lot on Cobblers Crescent and we encourage the use of this facility whenever possible.

Should you wish to use the Outer Cove access point at the end of Doran’s Lane, it is recommended to arrange for a pick-up/drop-off or travel by foot whenever possible but as of May 1 parking will be available on one side of the road.

——————-

In February we advised via social media that due to a winter parking ban being enforced by the Town of Logy Bay – Middle Cove – Outer Cove there would be no parking on Doran’s Lane until the end of April. The Town has now requested that the parking restrictions for Doran’s Lane continue indefinitely due to the narrow and constricted nature of this roadway and the limited capacity for parking along the road.

As a result, we ask hikers to continue to use the parking lot on Cobblers Crescent and the access trail connected to the parking lot for Cobblers Path. Should you wish to use the Outer Cove access point at the end of Doran’s Lane, you must arrange for a pick-up/drop-off or travel by foot.

We ask all hikers to respect the community of Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove and the residents of Doran’s Lane and abide by these parking restrictions.

Any questions should be directed to the Town of Logy Bay – Middle Cove – Outer Cove. ECTA is exploring alternative parking options for the Outer Cove side of Cobblers Path, and we appreciate your patience as we work to do this.
