Now Hiring: Trail Crew

The ECTA is a registered charity and not-for-profit responsible for the management, maintenance and protection of the East Coast Trail. Our mission is to provide a sustainable wilderness hiking experience by enhancing, protecting, developing, and maintaining the Trail, a 336 km coastal wilderness hiking trail on the eastern edge of Newfoundland’s Avalon Peninsula.

We are recruiting for our seasonal Trail Crew, made up of Trail Crew Workers and Skilled Labourers. These positions have critical roles assisting with construction, enhancement, and maintenance work along the East Coast Trail. In this position, you are responsible for activities such as removal of down trees, brushing and pruning, slash removal, building of trail structures, procurement of stepping stones, and transportation of materials & tools along the Trail.

You will be the boots on the Trail, building, maintaining, and enhancing the world-class paths that make up the East Coast Trail. This is a physically demanding job, with the need to hike several kilometres daily while transporting tools and equipment.

If you enjoy working outdoors, are physically fit, have experience as a general labourer, and love the East Coast Trail, then we encourage you to review the full job descriptions here for Trail Crew Worker and here for Skilled Labourer. This is a unique opportunity to be part of protecting and sustaining the internationally recognized East Coast Trail for generations to come.
